what dear john was about is this boy named john tyree who was like a rebel in high school then once he graduated he thought that his school let him graduate because they didn’t want him there then after about a year of graduating he decided he had to do something in his life so he decided to join the army and he said when he was younger that he would never join but it was his last resort then when he was on leave from the army during the summer he came back to his home town and then when he got there he went to the beach and surfed then he went to the pier and when a girl named savannah dropped her purse in the water he jumped in to get it when he went to shore she thanked him then she invited him to a party that she was having at her house then he said yes then they started to talk and get to know each other And then like a couple of days later john asked her out on a date an then they went to a shrimp place and after then after they were done he took savannah to go meet johns dad and when they got to his house savannah and johns dad started talking about coins and how many coins did he own because he collected coins and they talked about it all night and then the next day john saw savannah at the beach with her friends and he got nervous then savannah saw him and said hi and she wrapped her hands around his waist then later on he took her to go eat a hamburger and French fries then once when there was only a week left on his leave he got in a fight with savannas’ friend randy then when he tried to punch him he punched her other friend Tim in the face and then savannah got mad and once it was time for him to leave savanna gave him a letter than when he read itsavahnnah told him that she loved him and that she will agree to the promise that if he comes back alive that she will marry him and once after the 12 month happened john came back and then savahhnah was still in college and then they started to argue a lot but it stopped then once while john was in irqe savannah sent him a letter telling him that he found someone else and didn’t want to be with him anymore and ounce john read that he carried that letter every single time he was fighting because he was mad then when he got back he found out that savannah was married to her best friend Tim and that his dad had a heart attack so then he spent all his time with his dad helping him recover from his heart attach and then he asked his neighbors to help out his dad and then they did john went back and when he went back about 5 month later his da had another heart attack and then john decide that he had to take his dad to a nursing home so someone would be looking after him 24/7 and stuff once he made them arrangements he packed all his dads stuff up he too him there and set everything up and then after that he left again and after that his dad died two month later and he left to go to the funeral and once it was done his dads lawyer told john that his dad left him his coin collections and there was a map and when he went to go get the boxes he started to dig and when he reached it he pulled out 12 boxes full of coins and then once he did that he went to go visit savannah and then she told him that Tim had cancer and they were taking care of tims brother to then john started to help savannah around her horse farm and then one day after they went to see Tim savannah and john went inside her house and they kissed and then when john felt nice he saw a donation box in a liquor store for Tim and he exchanged all his coin collections and kept his buffalo coin and gave it to the donation so he could help Tim
